New York Gets 4-1 Win
|
The New York Empire defeated the New Orleans Krewe, 4-1, at Carnival Park. New York left fielder Bernard Neri had a superb performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs. New York reliever Sergio Ceniceros picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Cosmo Rosenberger absorbed the loss. The Empire raised their record to 45-81.
Chris Davis, the 26-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Davis contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put New York up, 3-1.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Neri told the New York Gazette. "You win just by scoring more runs."
