Fromarigues Hits Two Dingers, Diamondbacks Win, 9-2
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 9-2, at Citizens Bank Park. Arizona center fielder Guonçale Fromarigues had an outstanding performance. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Jerry Sherman, now 2-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 5.2 innings. Arizona goes to 10-4 with the win.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Dema Eidlin? The Arizona third baseman had a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 2-0. For the game, Eidlin had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Arizona manager J.R. House.
