Giants Topple Phillies, 10-4, as Ramos Shines
|
The San Francisco Giants topped the Philadelphia Phillies, 10-4, with right fielder Heliot Ramos playing a big role. Ramos was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Giants in the win. Alvin Wetzel got the win, improving to 3-1. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. San Francisco now has a record of 12-19.
San Francisco used the bat of Patrick Bailey to capture the win. The catcher jacked a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Giants ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said San Francisco manager .
