The Texas Rangers beat the Chicago Cubs, 5-0. Texas pitcher and Tawas City, Michigan, native Korey Kinney led the way. The winning pitcher was Kinney, now 5-5. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. The win puts Texas at 19-34.

Texas used a well-timed hit by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to capture the win. The first baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We had a good game plan," Kinney said, "and we were able to execute it."
