Buzzers Top Dukes
|
The Kansas City HS Buzzers pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the High School Cup in a hard-fought series with the Old Westbury HS Dukes.
It was a seesaw affair, but with a 14-0 victory at Buzzers Ballpark, Kansas City HS lay claim to the franchise's 4th championship.
"There's no denying we faced a tough opponent," said Steve Fessler. "But as the old saying goes, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,' and that's what we did today."
The champs finished the regular season 23-7 and claimed first place in the Republic League Eastern Division.
A victory parade is set to be scheduled in Kansas City HS in the days to come.
