Yankees Skid Hits 10 Games
|
The New York Yankees wasted an impressive 5-inning effort from starter Joe Schaffernoth, falling 1-0 to the Los Angeles Dodgers at Anaheim Stadium . Ron Willis snagged the win in relief. In 4.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 4-5 on the season. Frank Kreutzer collected his 4th save.
In the bottom of the first, Jim Howard delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases empty, the Los Angeles right fielder hit a solo home run, putting the Dodgers in front, 1-0.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Howard.
The losses continue to add up for New York, which has now fallen 10 times in a row.
