Orioles K-O Athletics, 1-0
|
The Baltimore Orioles did just enough to secure a victory over the Kansas City Athletics, 1-0, at Memorial Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Gary Waslewski. Getting the save was Jack Fisher, his 3rd. Baltimore is now 21-27.
Roy Sievers took Bob Lee deep in the bottom of the first. His solo home run put the Orioles on top, 1-0. In all, Sievers had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Sievers said.
