Royals, Mariners Play 10 to Settle Game 3, Kansas City Now Leads Series 2-1
|
When the games really matter, the Kansas City Royals put on their best show, beating the Seattle Mariners by a final score of 5-4 today. Barry Bonds earned player of the game honors, as he hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Kansas City now leads Seattle 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Kelly Gruber, who is rated as the 24th best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Kansas City with a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth. For the game, the third baseman had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
