Divisional Series Goes the Distance, Boston Prevails
The sweet swing of Shane Halter has led his team through the Divisional Series.

The Boston Red Sox star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the New York Yankees to advance to the League Championship Series.

The Red Sox won the final game at Yankee Stadium II by a score of 1-0 and the series 3-2.

"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Halter. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."

For the series, Halter hit .450 with a .476 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Boston Red Sox will play against the Oakland Athletics in the next round. Oakland won their series against the Detroit Tigers 3 games to 0. The League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 6th, 1994.
