Fans watched the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cincinnati Reds fight to the finish.

Pittsburgh right-hander Tommie Sisk pitched his team to victory over the Cincinnati Reds at Crosley Field. The final score was 6-5. The win lifted the Pittsburgh record to 34-32.

Pittsburgh used a well-timed hit by Rex Johnston to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pirates ahead, 6-4. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Johnston told the Pittsburgh Daily News.
