The Detroit Tigers used an offensive barrage to beat the Boston Red Sox, 10-2, at Fenway Park. Bill Freehan led the way, going 3-for-4 for Detroit. Detroit goes to 4-5.
In the top of the second of a scoreless game, Freehan hit a 2-run home run to put his team ahead.
"Good hitting and good pitching is a lethal combination," said Freehan.
