Aaron has 4 hits to Fuel Mets Offense
|
The 4-hit performance of Hank Aaron, who finished 2nd in the NL in RBI with 116 in 1966, helped the New York Mets beat the Houston Astros, 8-0. The second-place Mets lifted their record to 49-26.
The Mets got a gift in the top of the fourth inning, when they were leading 2-0. With two out and the bases loaded, Al Oliver reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-0, New York.
"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Mets manager Nolan Ryan.
