Gibbon Brings A-Game, Pirates Beat Mets
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates get after it.
Joe Gibbon pitched a gem in leading Pittsburgh to a 5-0 victory over the New York Mets. Pittsburgh occupies 7th place in the NL at 70-84.
Gibbon, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 10-10. In 8.2 innings of work, Gibbon gave up no runs on 3 hits, while racking up 8 Ks. He kept the Mets punchless, offensively.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Gibbon said.
