Indianapolis Lose, 1-0, to Indians, Rivera
Saturday, July 9th , 1966
Guillermo Rivera hurled a fine game for the Spokane Indians at Victory Field today, holding the Indianapolis Indians to 4 hits in a shutout win.
"When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy," Spokane manager Walter Alston said. "The more pitches he throws, the better his command is."
The left-hander had 5 strikeouts and 4 walks in the 1-0 victory.
"An outstanding job," Indianapolis manager Cody Druck said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."
So far this year Rivera has a 5-4 record with a 4.12 ERA.
