Eastern League Top Pitcher Selected Wednesday, October 12th , 1966 The Eastern League announced today that Gary Fischer has been chosen the Pitcher of the Year Award winner for 1966. The Elmira hurler had everything working for him as he cruised to an outstanding 12-8 record. Fischer put up an impressive 3.05 ERA in his award-winning season. He started 28 times, worked 203.2 innings, yielded 158 hits, walked 61, fanned 236 and held opposing hitters to a .210 average. He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 6. Chuck Dobson of the Reading Guardians finished second in voting, while Dick Scott of the Williamsport Mets finished third with 1 first place vote.
