Chattanooga Blanks Columbus Behind Robinson
Sunday, July 31st , 1966
A favor to his bullpen. That's what Joey Robinson was doing at Engel Stadium today as he blanked the Columbus Confederate Yankees in a 9-inning complete game shutout.

"I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the Chattanooga Lookouts right-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid."

Robinson notched 13 strikeouts, surrendered 2 walks, allowed 3 hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.

Robinson has made 14 starts, tossed 105.2 innings, struck out 103 batters and walked 43. His record is 7-4 with a 2.30 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .232 batting average.
