Mariners Suffer 4-3 Loss to Minnesota
|
Minnesota second baseman Jorge Quintero helped his team beat the Seattle Mariners, 4-3. Quintero, who led the AL in home runs with 53 in 2044, went 1 for 4 for the Twins. The win was credited to Luis Vacio in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Dusty Sommerfield took the loss. Juan Luna finished to wrap up his 4th save.
Minnesota grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Quintero, who finished 2nd in the AL in slugging percentage with .619 in 2044, hit a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Twins out in front, 4-1.
"If we keep winning the close games," Quintero said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
With their winning streak at 5, the Twins have raced to a strong start this season.
