Nationals Improve to 20-17 with 4-2 Win
|
Washington got a strong outing from Chris Curry as the Nationals defeated the Atlanta Braves, 4-2, at Nationals Park. Curry, now 4-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Picking up the save was Joel Loftus, his 9th.
Juan Morales, who is tied for 10th in the NL in triples with 2, chipped in for Washington with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
Curry expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
