White Sox Knock Off Spiders, 5-1
|
Chicago starter Mike Carlin put a stranglehold on the Cleveland offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the White Sox to a 5-1 win. Carlin, now 2-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The White Sox sport a record of 14-25.
Tommie Miller, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2039 draft, chipped in for Chicago with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Chicago manager Zach Van Horn. "It's usually not just one thing."
