Guardians Raise Rally Flag, Beat Boston, 10-6
|
The Cleveland Guardians had to overcome a big game from Boston second baseman Dan Knick to leave Fenway Park with a victory. And they did, winning 10-6. Knick was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Cleveland reliever Randy Stevens was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Mike Rodish took the loss. Cleveland is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Cleveland got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Jorge Loyola. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Guardians ahead, 9-6. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Loyola, "and go after the next one."
