Twins Throttle Mets, 6-1
|
The Minnesota Twins picked up a win at Citi Field, knocking off the New York Mets, 6-1. Starting pitcher Stephen Gonsalves, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Minnesota is now 52-54.
In the top of the sixth inning, third baseman Miguel Sano came through big-time for the Twins. With Minnesota leading 2-1, he belted a solo home run.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Twins manager Clint Hurdle, "I like our chances."
