Twins Top Blue Jays in Extras, 5-4
|
The Minnesota Twins knocked off the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-4, at Rogers Centre. Jorge Quintero was a big reason Minnesota won. The second baseman was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Picking up the save was Luis Vacio, his 1st. The 4th-place Blue Jays have dropped 4 straight games.
One of the biggest contributors for Minnesota was designated hitter Dan Peters. In the top of the 13th, with runners on 1st and 3rd, Peters got a 1-0 fastball and hit a run-scoring single. That put the Twins on top, 5-4.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Quintero told the Minnesota Herald. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
