Villalobos Leads Rangers to Win
|
The Texas Rangers downed the San Francisco Giants, 5-4. The hitting star was first baseman Ismael Villalobos. Villalobos belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Rangers. The win was credited to Dan Rowe in relief. His record improves to 6-2. Eric Ohl took the loss. Amari Ndiaye, credited with the save, is now 12 for 18 in save opportunities.
With Texas leading 3-0 in the bottom of the third, Villalobos hit a sinker from Eric Ohl for a 2-run home run. It was his 26th home run of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 5-0.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Villalobos said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Rangers saw their win-loss record go to 31-33. At the same time, the Giants fell to 36-29.
