Boston Sunk by Toronto, 2-1
|
The Blue Jays faced a stiff challenge from Boston pitcher Ken Kuntz, but persevered to claim a win at Fenway Park. The final score was 2-1. Kuntz went 6 innings and allowed no runs. The Blue Jays saw their win-loss record go to 42-60. At the same time, the Red Sox fell to 54-48.
Joel Woolfork, the 31-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Woolfork contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Toronto up, 2-0.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Woolfork told the Toronto Today.
