Marlins Prevail, 4-2, Over Philadelphia
|
Behind an impressive start by Bartolomeo Zerman, Florida beat Philadelphia, 4-2. Zerman, the winner, moves to 5-9. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. Jorge Ruano notched his 2nd save in 4 chances.
Florida first baseman Joel Fisher contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a forkball into right field for a 2-run single. It was his 11th hit of the season and put the Marlins ahead, 2-0.
"We put together a nice win," Zerman said.
Florida has now won 3 straight, while the Phillies have lost 3 in a row.
