Rangers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Astros, 5-1
|
The Texas Rangers stymied the Houston Astros, 5-1, at Minute Maid Park. Sergio Fornaris had a good day at the plate. He went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Texas. Texas is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Texas used the timely hitting of Freddie Force to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rangers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Force said his team "played with determination."
