Though he had a stellar game, Mike Allen could not prevent his team, the Minnesota Twins, from losing, 8-6, to the Toronto Blue Jays. Allen was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3. The Blue Jays now have a record of 53-64.

Pat Carpentieri went 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Toronto. The 27-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jonathan Klein. It was his 36th walk of the season.
