The San Francisco Giants stopped the Colorado Rockies, 8-5, at Colorado Field. The Giants got a big game from Juan Rodulfo, who was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Mike Harlan earned the save, his 39th, for the Giants. San Francisco improves to 81-49 with the win. They lead their division by 7 games.

San Francisco used the timely hitting of Pat Stapleton to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Giants on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Kevin Scheckel said.
