White Sox Knock Off Brewers, 9-6
|
Arturo Chaparro knocked in 4 runs to help Chicago beat Milwaukee, 9-6. Chaparro produced 1 single and 1 home run. Nick Shamas earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Josh Reynolds recorded the save, his 22nd.
Chaparro contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Chicago in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 6-3, Chaparro took a slider from Jeff Dees and stroked the home run to center. His 12th home run of the season allowed the White Sox to leap in front, 7-6.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Chicago skipper Zach Van Horn.
With the win over Milwaukee, the White Sox improved to 59-82.
