Orioles Absorb 6-4 Home Loss
|
Minnesota and Baltimore duked it out and the Twins came out victorious.
The Minnesota Twins besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Baltimore third baseman Eric Murray by beating the Orioles, 6-4, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Murray was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Steve Franey was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he yielded 1 run on 3 hits, with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts.
Juan Lagunas hit a bases-clearing triple off Jon Cole in the top of the third, which put the Twins in front, 3-0. Lagunas had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Minnesota manager Asher Gladdish.
Minnesota is now 84-61, 6½ games up in the American League Central Division.
