Minnesota Beats Cleveland, 6-3
|
Minnesota took on Cleveland in front of a lively crowd.
The Minnesota Twins bested the Cleveland Guardians, 6-3, at Progressive Field. Steve DeSimone was one of the standouts. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Mike Rodish, now 5-0, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Jeremie Capobianco got the save, the 11th for him this season.
With Minnesota leading 1-0 in the top of the third, DeSimone hit a splitter from Brad Jenkins for a 2-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 3-0.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Minnesota manager Asher Gladdish.
