Astros Lose By a Run at Cleveland
|
Progressive Field was the site of a tense game between the Houston Astros and Cleveland Spiders.
The Cleveland Spiders claimed a close win over the Houston Astros, due in large part to Quadir Bellfield. The Cleveland right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Alpha Waithe collected his 1st save.
Cleveland designated hitter Tommy Goytia contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the Spiders ahead, 2-0.
"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Bellfield said.
The win takes Cleveland to 2-4.
