Yankees Bridle Giants, 3-2
|
The New York Yankees got a stellar performance from pitcher Tim Hayes, who handcuffed the San Francisco offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Yankee Stadium. Hayes, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Earning his 1st save of the year was Juan Arriaga.
Making an impact for the home team was Ajani Owusu. In the bottom of the second, the slick-fielding shortstop had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 3-0, Yankees.
"Tim was Tim," said Yankees manager Shawn Sturgess. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
The Giants fall to 7-9 and continue their uneven start to the 2048 season.
