Robbins and Escobedo Swapped Monday, July 29th , 2047 Reports have surfaced that Baltimore has agreed to send 33-year old RHP Chris Robbins to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for 23-year old minor league LF Jose Escobedo and 19-year old minor league 2B Sean Anderson. "It's a done deal," said one executive speaking on the condition of anonymity. "I'm surprised word got around so quickly. We just signed off on this an hour ago." The deal apparently is awaiting physicals before an official announcement is made by either team. Baltimore will retain a portion of Robbins's remaining contract. To date this season Robbins sports a 9-7 mark with a 3.68 ERA in 23 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .216 batting average and has 158 strikeouts in 124.2 innings. |
