Expos End Bride's Streak Tuesday, July 30th , 2047 Colorado Rockies second baseman Chris Bride and his hot bat finally met their match today at Colorado Field. The Montreal Expos snapped his 28-game hitting string, holding Bride hitless in 3 at-bats and also whipping Colorado for good measure. "We're real pleased with this one," Expos manager David Grove said. "Nobody wants to be on the wrong end of a streak like that, and clobbering Colorado makes it even sweeter." Presently Bride is batting .306 with 140 hits and 8 home runs. He has knocked in 60 runs and scored 73 times. |
