Mets-Angels Swap: Brenneman for Hutchko Wednesday, July 31st , 2047 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Mets announced today the acquisition of 19-year old minor league LHP Ryan Hutchko from the California Angels in exchange for 26-year old minor league RHP Tim Brenneman and 25-year old RHP Ernesto Irizarry. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Mets, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." New York will retain a portion of Brenneman's remaining contract. New York will retain a portion of Irizarry's remaining contract. In 14 starts this season Brenneman has fashioned a 2-8 record and a 7.15 ERA. |
