For Juan Monteverde, it was a red-letter day. The Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder slapped his 2000th career hit. That his team defeated the Washington Nationals, 4-1, made it even sweeter.

The 35-year-old Monteverde finished the day with 2 hits in 4 at-bats.
Lifetime Monteverde has compiled a .283 batting average and collected 2000 hits, 448 home runs and 1216 RBIs.
