Hat Trick of Home Runs for van Rijsbergen Sunday, August 18th , 2047 Dinand van Rijsbergen was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 7-6 Chicago Cubs triumph at Wrigley Field today. The 32-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Cubs past the Cincinnati Reds. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," van Rijsbergen told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The first baseman went 4-for-5, rung up 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. Dinand van Rijsbergen flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Bobby Larisey in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jeremy Rice in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Juan Garza in the 9th. van Rijsbergen is presently hitting at a .244 pace with 34 home runs and 79 RBIs. He has played in 120 games and scored 85 times. |
