Rangers Edge Past Astros, 3-2
|
The Houston Astros got a sterling performance from pitcher Hunter Brown, but the Texas Rangers still prevailed, 3-2. Brown threw 8 innings of 2-hit ball. Texas reliever Tyler Phillips picked up the win to move to 1-3. Bryan Abreu suffered the loss. The Rangers now have a record of 42-59.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Texas trailing 2-1, Nick Solak hit a fastball from Brandon Bielak to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Rangers had a walk-off win.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Solak said.
