|
Tampa Bay Rays starter Shane Baz pitched a strong game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Tropicana Field, leading the Rays to victory, 4-3. Baz got the win, improving to 8-12. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4 over 6.2 innings. Baz allowed 2 runs. Riley O'Brien was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 27 of 29 save opportunities.
Ronaldo Hernandez drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Tampa Bay. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Simeon Woods Richardson. It was his 70th RBI of the season.
"Enjoyed this one," Hernandez told the Tampa Bay Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
