Reds Get Dramatic 9-8 Triumph
|
The Cincinnati Reds turned back the Milwaukee Brewers, 9-8, at Great American Ball Park. TJ Friedl, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Noah Davis in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Devin Williams took the loss. The first-place Reds, at 76-58, now lead their division by 3½ games.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Cincinnati trailing 8-5, Friedl hit a fastball from Devin Williams for a grand slam home run, giving the Reds the walk-off win.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Friedl.
