The Boston Red Sox picked up a win at Fenway Park, knocking off the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-1. Starting pitcher Bryan Mata was a big reason why. Mata went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 12-14. Boston is now 66-91.
Connor Wong aided the Boston cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
