Indians Outmuscle Minnesota, 11-8
|
Despite a fine performance by second baseman Nick Gordon, the Minnesota Twins lost to the Cleveland Indians, 11-8. Gordon was 2 for 6 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Logan Allen got the win, improving to 3-5. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 10 and walking 1. Emmanuel Clase finished to wrap up his 13th save.
The Indians grabbed the lead in the bottom of the third. With no one out, Bobby Bradley, who is tied for 6th in the AL in total bases with 91, hit a 3-run home run off Matt Canterino, putting Cleveland in front, 5-0. For Bradley, it was his 8th home run of the season.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Bradley said. "We did a good job of that today."
Cleveland, at 25-22, is 2 games up in the American League Central Division.
