Red Sox Win at Texas, 13-7
|
The Boston Red Sox stopped the Texas Rangers, 13-7, at Globe Life Field. The Red Sox got a big game from Triston Casas, who was 3-5 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Brayan Bello, now 3-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. The last-place Red Sox are now 20-26, the Rangers 20-25.
Boston used a well-timed hit by Tyler Esplin to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Casas. "And not try to do too much."
