Gonsolin Holds Cincinnati Hitless
Thursday, July 2nd, 2020
Los Angeles Dodgers starter Tony Gonsolin came up big today at Dodger Stadium with an exceptional 3-0 outing against the Cincinnati Reds. Not only did he whip them, but Gonsolin held them hitless, too.
"My arm was a bit sore in warmups," confessed Gonsolin. "Sometimes you go out there and you're not feeling all that hot. You get into the game and all of a sudden in the seventh inning you look up and see the scoreboard and think to yourself, 'Oh, my goodness, I have a no-hitter!' You're so focused on what you're doing, it just happens."
In the course of the no-hitter, Gonsolin collected 9 strikeouts and surrendered 3 walks -- a day good enough to get his name in the history books.
This year Gonsolin has compiled a 7-6 record with a 2.16 ERA.
