RiverDogs Turn Back Intimidators, 4-2
|
The Charleston RiverDogs got a strong performance from pitcher Jeff Bauer, who stymied the Kannapolis offense en route to a win, 4-2, at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Bauer, now 7-9, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Picking up the save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Daigle.
It could have been a different outcome for Charleston, had it not been for Josh Eshelman, the 21-year old center fielder . Eshelman contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Charleston up, 4-2.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Eshelman after the game.
The victory gives the RiverDogs a record of 74-54.
