Asheville took on Greenville in front of a lively crowd.

The Asheville Tourists knocked off the Greenville Drive, 9-2, at McCormick Field. Ernie Blasius was a big reason Asheville won. The first baseman hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Josh Willmot, now 3-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4 innings.

Doug Creighton had a timely hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out and the bases loaded, the Asheville pinch hitter hit a run-scoring single. That put the Tourists in front, 3-2.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Creighton told a Asheville Observer reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

Asheville is 6th in the Southern Division with a record of 55-83.
