Tri-City ValleyCats starter Kevin Elmore was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Staten Island Yankees, 3-2. The loss makes Staten Island 22-15.

It could have been a different outcome for Tri-City, had it not been for Jon Green, the 23-year old catcher . Green contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Tri-City up, 3-0.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Elmore.
