Everett 3-2 Win Hard-Earned
|
The AquaSox earned a hard-fought, 3-2 win in 18 innings at Memorial Stadium. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Boise pitcher Jake Biddle. Biddle went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner was Mike Cramer in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Ben Nielson took the loss. The setback makes Boise 25-31.
Jimmy Van Dyke came through with a big-time hit for Everett. The left fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the 18th inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Van Dyke told reporters after the game: "Runs were scarce, so we had to work hard to get the W."
