The Dunedin Blue Jays got a strong performance from pitcher Johão Reyna, who stymied the Clearwater offense en route to a 3-1 win in Game 3 of the Round 1 today. The Threshers could never get a bead on the left-handed Reyna, who threw 8.0 innings allowing 1 runs. The Blue Jays now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

An important at-bat for the Blue Jays came in the bottom of the eighth, when designated hitter Jaquan Awosika stroked a run-scoring double. That made the score 2-1 in favor of Dunedin. For the day, Awosika went 1 for 3 with a double.

"We haven't forgotten how long this series might be, but 2-1 is a heck of a lot better than 1-2," Reyna said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin.
